There's no doubt that it's one of the most difficult stages for every mother, especially if it's her first child. However, the journey of motherhood teaches mothers to be bold and try every possible means and method. Therefore, we offer you a number of tips:
- Start the diaper removal exercise in the summer, to make it easier for the child to control and because the cold weather makes him lose control of himself.
- Encourage him to choose the toilet seat and talk to him about this step enthusiastically. He might choose his favorite color or his favorite cartoon character.
- Do not scold him if he fails or does not tell you that he wants to go to the bathroom, and expect the exercise to take some time.
- Encourage him every time he succeeds in the exercise and tell him how happy you are with him.
- Replace regular diapers with another type that resembles underwear during sleeping.
- Choose clothes that are easy to take off during exercise, as you need to go to the bathroom quickly and taking off your clothes does not take a lot of time.
- Buy him colorful stories to read while he tries to use the toilet. There are a number of stories that explain with pictures the steps for using the toilet.
- There are two groups that follow two different training methods. The first group prefers to use the potty and then moves on to sitting on the toilet. The second group starts directly using the toilet based on the principle of completing the task as long as it ends with sitting on the toilet in the end.
-You can motivate your child by buying a board and adding a star to it every time he successfully uses the toilet, and he will receive a reward for achieving a certain number of stars.
- Make sure your child is ready for this step. This means that he is able to express himself and his needs. There is no specific age at which it is recommended to start the exercise with him. Some mothers confirm the success of the exercise while the child is a year and a half old, while others find that the child is not ready until the age of three. Therefore, the matter depends on the degree of your child’s readiness and responsiveness.
